(1) The installation site for diesel generators should be well-ventilated. There should be sufficient inlet air on the generator end and proper outlet air on the diesel engine end. The outlet area should be 1.5 times larger than the water tank area.

(2) When using a diesel generator indoors, the exhaust pipe should be directed outside. The exhaust pipe diameter should be greater than or equal to the muffler exhaust pipe diameter. The exhaust should be smooth, and the pipe can slope downwards by 5-10 degrees to prevent rainwater entry. If the exhaust pipe is vertically installed, an anti-rain cover should be added to the diesel generator unit.

(3) The area surrounding the installation site of the diesel generator should be kept clean. Ensure there is no floating sand on the ground, and avoid items that produce corrosive gases or vapors nearby. If possible, fire extinguishing devices should be installed adjacent to the diesel generator unit. If a diesel engine inhales dirty air, incomplete combustion and reduced power can result. Particulate matter, like sand grains, inhaled by the generator can damage the insulation between fixed and rotating parts, leading to severe damage.

(4) The foundation should be made of concrete. When installing the diesel generator unit, use a spirit level to ensure it is mounted horizontally. There should be dedicated vibration isolation pads or anchor bolts between the unit and the foundation.

(5) The casing of the diesel generator unit must have reliable grounding. Avoid neutral point grounding during general installation. Grounding the neutral point of the unit can increase the risk of lightning faults and cover leakage and load grounding errors, which might not be exposed under high-current power supply conditions. For units requiring direct neutral point grounding, a professional should perform the grounding, along with lightning protection equipment.

(6) The bidirectional switching between the diesel generator unit and the mains should be highly reliable to prevent reverse power transmission. The wiring reliability of the dual switch needs approval from the local power supply department.

(7) The wiring of the starting battery for the diesel generator unit should be secure.

(8) When using the diesel generator unit, the load should be above 50% but not exceed 80%. After running in for 60 hours, it can be put into normal operation.

(9) If the diesel generator unit remains inactive for a long time, within 15 days, it should be started for at least 10 minutes, and the diesel engine water temperature should reach above 50 degrees.
